I got an email from a teacher that says that they have invited a student to their class via username, but the student hasn't accepted the invition in time. When the teacher tries to invite the student again, they get an error saying that they have already invited that student eventhough the invite link has expired.

The invite user function checked whether the student had already gotten an invitation for the class, if that was the case it would complain. With #6032 that shouldn't be a problem.
I cannot replicate this issue. Every invitation a teacher extends does have an expiration time which is displayed in the class page. However, when we do not check for the expiration date of the invitation when we display it to the student or when they accept/decline it. We do not even have an error message which mentions expiration.
