According to
http://stackoverflow.com/a/19522578/1068170
it seems commondatastorage.googleapis.com is no longer used.

Instead, as in the docs, it should be

storage.googleapis.com/<bucket>/<object>
<bucket>.storage.googleapis.com/<object>

Was fixed in #863 (branch was even named fix-791, oops by me for not closing)
