Describe the problem or limitation you are having in your project

Important comments are easy to overlook because it gets grayed out.

Describe the feature / enhancement and how it helps to overcome the problem or limitation

Have a way to mark a comment as important. These would be displayed in brighter, maybe even bold letters.
I propose #! as there is already a code ligature for it and makes it clear that this is important.

Describe how your proposal will work, with code, pseudo-code, mock-ups, and/or diagrams

If this enhancement will not be used often, can it be worked around with a few lines of script?

Is there a reason why this should be core and not an add-on in the asset library?

#! may be confused with shebang or users may think #! comments have some special role (for example, some directives).

But we can add highlighting for common markers in comments (TODO, FIXME, etc.). Here is how it looks in Kate:
