We're here to help streamline the process of getting your PRs merged, understanding the repository structure, and contributing the best possible templates. We know it's been challenging in the past, and we're committed to making it easier. Additionally, we're looking forward to exploring future improvements for the repository and how it's used.

Who We are

This section outlines a few areas we are passionate about and focusing on. It is intended to be aspirational and is not meant to be a concrete roadmap or set of deliverables.

• Unified and Simplified Contribution Experience: Streamlining the process of contributing to .gitignore templates, regardless of the contributor's technical expertise or familiarity with the codebase. This could involve improved documentation, tools for automated testing, and simplified integration into the main repository.
• Community-Driven Template Library: Fostering a collaborative environment where users can easily share and discover .gitignore templates for a wide range of projects and technologies. This might include mechanisms for highlighting popular or well-maintained templates and nesting or inheriting templates.
• Automated Template Review and Linting: Implementing systems to automatically lint and parse .gitignore templates in Pull Requests to expedite feedback.
