I would like to suggest that the calendar should always show the current week in the top row of the calendar grid. While I realize that we used a jQuery module for the calendar and that causes this idea to probably be difficult, there are a number of benefits I'd like to outline:
Events deeper in the future are shown, allowing for more in-advance knowledge of events rather than surprise when the calendar rolls over to the next month. For example, if we have a competition on a Sunday or Monday that is hidden on the calendar, it becomes.
Already-finished events are not shown, which means that more useful information (e.g. what's going on now and what's going on in the future) would get shown as opposed to information that is irrelevant (e.g. what's already been done).

Also I've heard and seen that the date and time entry systems are incredibly inefficient. Changing the hour value should reset the minute and second values to zero, and changing the minute hour should change the second values to zero. I believe that the seconds entry can be completely omitted as well.
However, since it seems that we're rewriting the website, these would be things to keep in-mind while we transition into the future.
