The team: Venus team

Venus team leads the development and practice of Filecoin Venus, established in 2020, Shanghai, China. Now we have decades of members from all over the world focusing on code dev and community.

Through the core dev and ecological activities and programs, we hope (and already) to have more storage service providers, users, and enthusiasts join Filecoin or provide more contributions after joining Filecoin.


The project: Venus Deal Accelerator (https://venushub.io/accelerator/)

Venus is committed to offer a fully functional deal-making experience for both storage clients and storage providers on the scale. As the Filecoin network grows and the community strives towards a more storage deal weighted growth than committed capacity growth, the Venus community takes on the challenge to help shape this vision with the Venus Deal Accelerator program.

The goal of the Venus Deal Accelerator program is to distribute as much storage deals as it can to the broader storage provider community with focuses on seamlessly bridging the sealing experience that storage providers are already familiar with to the Filecoin deal taking experience. Venus Deal Accelerator program will be responsible for applying large datacap with approved open datasets from fil-plus program and distribute storage deals to its participants running Venus storage systems.

We define VenusHub as a platform for community projects. The Deal Accelerator mentioned here is one of them. The Deal Accelerator is aimed at the storage providers of real data storage. We complete the SP screening through they' application and screening rules, and they come from the Filecoin community, so they have no interest relationship.

Information supplement on the project

1. Venus is the second implementation of Filecoin, which is equivalent to Lotus. Supported by the Filecoin Foundation, our team is responsible for development and management. It can be used as the choice of SP, Client and more roles when running Filecoin, which can improve the fault tolerance of Filecoin.
2. VenusHub is a community platform, including multiple projects. Their main purpose is to enable more ecological members to use Venus or make it easier for members to use Venus, so as to improve the storage capacity and retrieval experience of the Filecoin network. The platform is supported by the Foundation, and we, as the operation team.
3. The Deal Accelerator is one of the projects under VenusHub. The target user is the real data storage provider from the Filecoin community or that has not joined the Filecoin community, so Datacap is one of the key factors. Here is the project overview: https://venushub.io/accelerator.

About your question

1. The data set we prepared in the last LDN has not been used up, because the proportion of the order quantity allocated to each SP is very low under our control, and the data has not been stored in too many copies.
2. According to the purpose of this project, we want to store more public data so as to bring more real data storage providers to Filecoin and Venus, which requires more DCs.
3. We also do not intend to use the previous data in this LDN, but the data types are the same. We believe that scientific data is of high value.
4. We store real data online and offline, and require these SPs from the community to support retrieval, which is one of the reasons why the Foundation supports this project.
