Problem:
Docs within leap release/3.1 branch have diverged substantially from the main branch.

Reason:
Various commits were performed on the main branch but not applied to the latest release/3.1 branch.

Solution:
Find applicable commits from the main branch and cherry-pick them into the release/3.1 branch.
