The most common operation I seem to be doing is trying to add more rooms to the space, not dig through the suggested rooms or see what is there. The suggested rooms and such feel more like a settings thing than a 'manage rooms' thing

This button is just Explore rooms for non-admins, it takes you to the exact same place in both cases.

The same exact dropdown has Add existing room

&& The place the Manage... button takes you to has a CTA for Add existing room too

I somehow completely missed the dedicated buttons for creating a room/adding an existing room. I think I just stopped reading when I found an option that sounded like what I was looking for.

What about Add, manage and explore rooms? 🤔

But that would make the dialog context menu quite big :(

Well it's not a dialog on purpose, to maximise the screen space for hierarchy viewing

I am an idiot, sorry - I meant to say context menu instead of dialog

But adding the word Add into the context menu option doesn't make that view have any add feature :D

I might be just confused but isn't there :D

I guess so, but it might not be depending on your exact permissions

Good point

@turt2live so what do you want here?

I think if we just drop "Manage and explore rooms" entirely, then make the "Settings" option go to the rooms page it'll be fine. There's a settings button on the manage rooms page, so it should remain accessible.

It might be worth renaming "Settings" in the context menu to "Explore" - people might be able to find the settings from there on their own.

Settings being directly on the context menu is so that you can do it without losing the context of whatever room you are on currently

that doesn't feel like a very valuable thing to me, imo. Editing settings tends to put someone in a full context of editing those settings. Discord for example drops you in fullscreen view that replaces the entire chat interface.

I wonder if this is a short lived problem/how long is it around for. We're adding rooms to spaces now because all our rooms already exist and we're retrospectively shoving them into spaces as a way to fix my room list.

At some point, my pre-space rooms are in the right spaces, and then I don't think that action is used so much? Or do you think you'd continue to use it as much? Like Home becomes a messy Desktop of rooms, with spaces being your folders.

It feels like I'm not adding rooms which were created ages ago, but instead ones that were created recently and I happened to have been involved.

It might be a case of that community not having a space to track, but even if they did I'd imagine that then becoming the canonical operation.

Cool, just to check, are these rooms created after joining and trying the spaces beta, or created before joining the beta?

After partaking in spaces, created by random people

@turt2live with the latest iterations on Spaces do you still want a change here?

@t3chguy is that change in 1.10.14-rc.1? If so I haven't noticed any improvement in this area.
