if there's a video conf in a room, you could just show the thumbnail in the top-left as a read-only video view.

Obviously this is a very old issue now - but we are intending to implement something like this as part of the several streams of Element Call integration going on. So, removing the needs product label, and we'll track this and hopefully close it as that work progresses.
