[Fleet] Install the Elastic Agent package during setup #86112
Comments
Pinging @elastic/ingest-management (Team:Ingest Management) |
@nchaulet Why not default? |
@blakerouse Right now there is no value to add the package to an agent policy, the package only provide a dahsboard but the fact that agent collect logs and metrics is defined by settings on the agent policy not the package (this could change there is a discussion on that currently) |
Will the package have a default ILM policy? The collected Agent logs and metrics should be kept by default maybe for 7 days. User, of course can adjust this based on specific needs. |
The package currently do not have a default ILM policy it's something we can improve |
@ravikesarwani For the ILM policy can you create a specific issue with the requirements? |
Created 91201. |
Hi @EricDavisX Test cases for above changes is located at C76941 Thanks |
Description
As we install the
system
package during the ingest management setup we should install theelastic_agent
package.The only difference this package should not be added to the default agent policy.
