Kibana version: 6.2.x

Elasticsearch version: 6.2.x

Server OS version: Any

Browser version: Any

Browser OS version: Any

Original install method (e.g. download page, yum, from source, etc.): zip/tar

Describe the feature:

It seems that we added the "other_bucket" as an option to the terms aggregation: #15525. Thanks @ppisljar !

For filter aggregations we can enable this by adding it to the Advance Settings inside the configuration of the chart:

After doing this, the pie-chart (or any chart) will show the correct other bucket, but the response table doesn't parse this as expected:

Also if you try to use this workaround for the Table Viz is just doesn't work:

It would be great to see if we can:

  1. Add native support for "others" in the filter aggregation.
  2. Parse/show the others bucket in the response/result and any table visualization.

Adding a simple button or checkbox to enable this would be great

if u want to use the workaround in kibana 7.9.2 u need to add the Filter "_other_" in addition to the json part. without u got the response from elastic but u cannot see anything in the vis.

Closing this because it's not planned to be resolved in the foreseeable future. It will be tracked in our Icebox and will be re-opened if our priorities change. Feel free to re-open if you think it should be melted sooner.

@timductive timductive closed this as not planned Won't fix, can't repro, duplicate, stale Mar 21, 2024
