Kibana query bar has history enabled

Elasticsearch version: 6.0.0-beta1

Description of the problem including expected versus actual behavior:
I noticed that Kibana now keeps the full history of the query field. In my case, it quickly ends up like this:

I'm not against help in the form of autocomplete/history, but this seems a bit much.

This is the way it's always worked, afaik. Is there something about the new language that you think makes it more of a problem?

Indeed it has nothing to do with Kuery, happens with Lucene as well. Indeed it is not new in 6.0. If it's as designed then it can be closed, but I thought I'd submit it to get some feedback on it.
