Dactyl ManuForm Tight Keyboard With A Trackball

This is a fork of the Dactyl-ManuForm-Tight. The Dactyl-ManuForm-Tight is a fork of the Dactyl-ManuForm. The Dactyl-Manuform is a fork of the Dactyl with the thumb cluster from ManuForm. The trackball socket is taken from Qurn's trackball. I used parts of the Derek Nheiley's code. The hotswap is taken from ibnuda's code.

Problems

  • The sensor (PMW3360) is too large to fit in the case, I had to print a bottom plate with it cut out, and attach anti-slipping stickers to raise the keyboard higher from the desk: Imgur
  • Due to the increased tenting of the thumb cluster, I had to cut the edges of the keycaps to put them in: Imgur

Firmware

First, I built it as a wired keyboard with Noah Prince's fork of QMK and two Atmega32u4. Now, I rebuilt it with 2 nice!nanos and 2 2400mA batteries, so it is wireless, you can view my fork of ZMK, which is a combination of a few repositories I found (Most changes are taken from ufan/zmk) plus some stuff I added for myself. You can view my ZMK shield config for that firmware.

Features

  • Embedded trackball in the right half of the keyboard.
  • Hotswap sockets.
  • Increased tenting.
  • Wireless.
