Sprint 1 Retrospective

Sprint 1 Goal:

Have our CI set up, Project Plan complete, and a web page we can successfully upload files to and parse data from those files.

Did we meet this goal:

We met the majority of what we wanted to achieve in sprint 1. We didn't meet the part where we wanted to be able to successfully upload files but we have our web page layout done We also have a part of the parsing done but took a little bit longer than expected and we also had questions regarding the data and didn't hear back from the sponsor in time. We also got our CI down but couldn't test it because there weren't enough minutes to test that. We just switched our repository to public so that issue should be fixed now and testing the CI will happen shortly.

What we can improve on:

We as a team could manage our time better and get PR's out there to be accepted earlier in the sprint. We also want to be able to communicate better and ask for help if we are stuck. This could be fixed by maybe having more meetings during the sprint to focus on asking how every members tasks are going and if they need help. Having better time management will also help fix the issue of PR's backing up.

Overall performance

We feel like the first sprint went okay, there were hiccups and issues that we had but overall, we aren't too disappointed with what we achieved during the sprint. It was our first real sprint and learning to manage the time for this class with other classes and work was a challenge that we should get better at navigating in future sprints.

Team capacity and velocity

We ended up doing two user stories for each member on the team during this sprint. Not all work was able to be completed so we are going to maintain this capacity going into sprint 2 and hopefully with the experiences from sprint 1, we will be able to up our velocity.
