It would be nice to see recommendation engines in play to pair users to groups, hangouts, or even other users based on different user characteristics.
We can use sentiment analysis to gauge trends within the codebuddies community and offer it it on a weekly basis, perhaps in the resurrected newsletter?
Simple regression analysis to detect trends would be interesting as well, and easy for budding future data scientists to sink their teeth into. Visualization and models might start to be built should we start opening issues requesting for them. It would also be interesting to see what more seasoned deep learning specialists would do with what anonymized data we have.
Right now we don't offer a lot of features in terms of data science and machine learning, so I'm starting this thread to gauge interest and possible approaches. We have a good privacy policy in place that prohibits us to collect data, but we are still sitting on potentially valuable data that could help our users. If we start offering that data for people to play around with without violating the privacy policy, my hope is that people might start to build interesting things with them.
