Describe the bug
When I first installed multipass via homebrew it all worked perfectly. After I closed the lid of my MacBook one evening, the next morning nothing worked anymore. I completely uninstalled multipass with it's provided uninstaller script and deleted all homebrew caches. I freshly installed it but it won't work anymore. I tried every possible solution I could find but nothing seems to help.

To Reproduce
How, and what happened?

  1. multipass launch 22.04 -n primary -c 4 -m 4G -d 10G
  2. everything workes fine, I can use the VM
  3. close the lid and go to sleep
  4. next morning try to continue working

Expected behavior
What did you expect to happen?
I expected multipass to continue working. At least after I completely reinstalled it.

Hi @RobinJ05, unfortunately this looks like another occurrence of #2387. Take a look at that thread and give some of the suggestions there a try. If nothing helps, let us know!

Hey @sharder996, I took a look at the thread and tried everything that might have helped. Unfortunately I'm still encountering the same issue.

Do you have the same issue when trying to launch new instances? Also, ff you don't mind, could you post the contents of /var/db/dhcpd_leases?

Yes, the issue also persists if I try to launch new instances.
I surely can post the contents of the dhcp_leases

Have you turned on Internet Sharing by chance? System Preferences ->General -> Sharing -> Internet Sharing
Turning that on breaks networking for the VMNet framework.

No I only have enabled the Printer and Bluetooth Sharing but not the Internet Sharing.

After the latest macos update (14.3 (23D56)) everything went back to normal.
