For Cycle 12 #537
Comments
The Bisq DAO has issued you 10,508 BSQ for your contributions year to date. The merit of these contributions has been highly suspect and of dubious quality as mentioned when audited by numerous other contributors. Maybe you would consider paying back the DAO for those issuances by crediting this work towards that? |
I'd like to know who audited my works and his knowledge on digital marketing. I find it ridiculous that, after all the work I have done for Bisq, you have started to freeze me for no reason. The assumptions that Steve made about my integrity arewrong, and I'm still waiting for a reason for these claims. |
All of my requests have been agreed by team leaders and approved by the majority of the DAO. why have you changed your mind now? |
Cycle 8I called you out on some strange items in your very first request back in Cycle 8. Cycle 9Although I never publicly commented it, I rejected your Cycle 9 request in the DAO. The numbers were flat-out ridiculous for anyone familiar with web work. I've built and run a number of digital properties away from Bisq, so I know what I'm talking about. One doesn't need to be an expert in digital marketing to see that asking for 100 BSQ to update the copyright year of a website is borderline insulting. Perhaps contributors would like to know that the already-extreme Cycle 9 number of 5896 BSQ you requested is half of what you were going to originally request (!!). Cycle 10Despite all this, I again allowed your request in Cycle 10 even though I knew it was another extreme one...2000 USD for a domestic trip for 1 day? Crazy. Why did I do it? To be professional to you since there was no prior discussion on trip expenses, and I didn't think rejecting it outright would have been honorable on my part (I noted these concessions in my approval comment). Most importantly, budgeting was just going into practice at the time, and I knew nothing like that could ever happen again. This isn't a new thing. Your contributions have been suspect since you started contributing. Hindsight is 20/20, and DAO stakeholders feel ripped off. I will reject this request, and I hope others do too. |
It was merely a suggestion on a way to show contrition, good faith, and rehabilitate your reputation. I can't freeze anything, and you are always welcome to put up issues for vote by the DAO, as is anyone, right? As you point out, your last request was 99.9% approved but we can see only 45654 votes were cast where as most other contributors had over 500,000 votes cast on their requests. So I guess my goal is to help educate the voters on why they may not want to continue to abstain. I won't rehash all the evidence that has been discussed but I will link this: I do sincerely thank you for helping to harden some of the security weaknesses in the Bisq project as far as social attacks on the DAO. When I first started reviewing all the DAO voting history last year, it seemed quite worrisome that almost no request was rejected at all, indicating that the default was to just rubber stamp these CRs. It's nice to shatter the illusion of perfect good faith by the contributors. |
Cycle 8 was my first Cycle and my first contribution request, I made a couple of mistakes and I acknowledge that. About Cycle 9 and 10 don't tell me about overvalued work. Every CR in Bisq is overvalued. My works, especially ones about Search Engine Optimization, added huge value to the website. And you know that.
I didn't ask a single dollar for Cycle 11 works. Compensation for translations, on the other hand, is completely different and is based on predefined parameters. The fact that you don't approve this legitimate request because you have personal problems or related to past Cycles is deeply wrong. You should take considerations and judge based on the present. I waited over 4 months for italian translation budget and worked for hours and hours to make the translations |
Did you try to tell the other two translators to reach #transifex Keybase channel and read about Bisq DAO and translation guidelines? This is what I told you in private and I wrote here after realizing the budget was overloaded: submit all compensation requests that should be reviewed and then we'll talk about how it will be compensated. There is no budget for website translation. There might be some changes soon on the web and translation efforts will be focused only on a few parts of it. Some strings of the website were translated this cycle, although you should already knew that there's high budget restrictions and focus is on bisq-desktop. I know how many words contain the Bisq-desktop project. How many have you translated? I'll do that job: At this time, transifex says that you have translated 13057 words, which stands for 914 USD. But take into consideration that when you review a translator and modify a string, it counts you as translator as well. The other 2 translators have now ate least 3495 and 1565 words to be compensated for, in total 354 USD. So your compensation for bisq-desktop translation must not exceed 1256.92 - 354 = 902,92 USD. You still need to take into consideration the strings that may appear as translated by you and are just modified due to revisions. |
@MwithM Ps: there doesn't seem to be any way to check or exclude revisions from the Filters |
There's no easy way to know how many strings are translated and how many are mere reviews. A total of 800 USD would be fine for me, but it also should be discussed with the other two translators. Send your proposal to DAO and comment here your TXID. |
Closing as rejected. |
There are some inconsistencies with the vote result calculation for cycle 12. We are looking into it. Please avoid moving any BTC in your BSQ wallet for now, they might actually be BSQ that failed to get colored. |
Summary
Hi, I'm the Bisq italian translation coordinator. Me and other two italian translators finished to translate and review Bisq website in italian and we are finalizing the review of desktop translation (just 87 strings to review and it's done too).
Italian translation was approved in Cycle 8 and the $360 budget for this Cycle was approved by @MwithM.
I would like to get 625 BSQ for this month, knowing and respecting Cycle 12 budget limitations.
Since the budget cannot cover italian translation expenses in a single cycle, we decided to divide the compensation requests in this way:
Website translation contains 3825 strings (3825 * 0.07 = $267.75)
Desktop translation contains 17956 strings (17956 * 0.07 = $1256.92)
In this way we are able to cover the costs of the Italian translation in 4 cycles (Cycle 12, Cycle 13, Cycle 14, Cycle 15)
