The new kde() function implemented in the PR #1284 has many optional arguments that affect how the estimation is produced.
The defaults are the same than the ones in the old _fast_kde() but it would be good to update functions such as plot_kde() to pass optional arguments to kde() so the user as a more control over the density estimate.
