honkai star rail not opening on hoyoplay

I am using hoyoplay on whisky and every time that i try to open hsr i get a black screen and then it crashes and reopen hoyoplay. does anybody have a solution to this?

HSR needs a patch to work with wine, therefore hokers-railway-launcher uses a patch to run the game on linux. Since you're on MacOS you should check out yet-another-anime-game-launcher, which applies the same patch but is designed to work on MacOS.

is there any other way to apply the patch without using yaagl

You can apply the patch manually - I wont link to it here because it circumvents Hoyo's TOS, but it is fairly easy to find if you search for it and includes instructions on how to use it
