Hi All,
We are making changes to the Amazon API Services Developer Agreement, Data Protection Policy (DPP), and Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). These changes go into effect in 15 days on August 25, 2021 and will be available worldwide.
We do not expect these policy updates to require changes to your existing application security or controls.
The key changes are:
We are clarifying our Amazon API Services terms and using “Authorized Users” instead of “Selling Partners” because Developers are now creating apps that go beyond the Selling Partner use case. This includes associated definition and terminology updates.
There are updated, added, and/or removed provisions related to disclaimers, limitations of liability, governing law, tax responsibility, and antiboycott.
Text has been updated to improve readability and clarity.
We have added confidentiality provisions to our Data Protection Policy to clarify that we keep Developer audit information confidential.
The Developer Agreement and AUP have been updated to refer to the “Amazon Partner Network” instead of the “Marketplace Appstore”.
Your continued use of Amazon API Services after August 23, 2021, constitutes your acceptance of the updated agreement and policies.
Our goal is to help you and all our developers continue to succeed with Amazon and grow your businesses around the world. Thank you for being an Amazon API Services developer.
Best regards,
The Selling Partner API team
