What

Remove the fallback PNG, used for Internet Explorer 8, from the header component.

Remove the PNG itself from the assets/images folder.

Why

As of GOV.UK Frontend v5.0, we no longer support Internet Explorer 8.

  • Fallback PNG has been removed from the header markup
  • Related classes (e.g. govuk-header__logotype-crown-fallback-image) have been removed from the CSS
  • The image has been removed from the assets/images folder
  • Instructions for service teams included in changelog
