Description

The AR pop-up storybook companion brings to life children’s books using augmented reality technology and the iPhone. We Are in a Book! (An Elephant and Piggie Book) by Mo Willems is the application’s first augmented reality book.

  • Story: This application's goal is to spark joy, wonder, and a love of reading in children under the age of eleven by leveraging the widespread used of screens to engage children.
  • Market: This application is for all children under the age of eleven and their parents.
  • Scope: The minimum viable product for this iteration of the application includes a welcome screen and instructions for one book.

1. User Stories

Required Must-have Stories

  • Users can see 3D models of characters that represent the image on the page
  • Users can flip pages and new 3D models will appear
  • Users can click a sound button to hear audio for the text on the page
  • Users can navigate between the Home, Guide, and Camera screens
  • Users have instructions for how to use the application

2. Screen Archetypes

  • Home: The Home screen is the initial screen users see when opening the app. It serves to welcome the user to the application.
  • Guide: The Guide screen lists instructions on how to use the app’s AR and read-aloud functionalities.
  • Camera: The Camera screen turns on the camera to scan book pages upon which AR elements are rendered
