Background redrawing issue when resizing window. #5258
Comments
I'm seeing the issue on Windows 7, but I believe it applies to all windows. |
@RaymondLim, I've seen this behavior for a while in Brackets (Windows 7), although the background color was white before the dark shell was implemented. Now it is light blue. I see it when I resize the Chrome browser as well. Same light blue color and same scrollbar filler square in the corner. It is definitely more noticeable in Brackets where there is more of a lag time on window resize. |
Thanks @lkcampbell. Maybe it's a Chromium issue since we see the same light blue color in Chrome browser. But if we can override the default background color to white (same as the one before dark shell), then I think it will be less noticeable. |
@RaymondLim, agreed. A white background would be better. The other part that makes the flickering scrollbar filler square so obvious is the dark gray color of the right toolbar. I see it flickering constantly in the lower right corner when I resize the window. I tried installing the Toolbar Toggle extension on Sprint 30 and I can hardly see the flickering white square at all when the toolbar is toggled off. Not really sure what a solution for that problem would be though, unless there is a way to make that flickering square transparent; however, at least with a white background, you won't get that white trail going through the light blue. |
FYI, the flickering white square that is causing the white trail in the blue background has been filed as issue #1741. |
Reviewed. Low priority to @JeffryBooher |

When resizing the Brackets window larger, the extra area exposed is drawn with a light-blueish color temporarily and you can also see partially drawn scroll bars in the newly exposed area next to the right edge.
