Only capture the mouse in nested if the game does #216
Comments
it would be really nice to see this feature added. i play old games that benefit greatly from the upscaling and isolation that gamescope provides but dont require the mouse getting locked inside the window. the mouse getting locked inside makes it super clunky to multi-task doing stuff like browsing the web or talking on discord on the side. being able to seamlessly move the mouse in and out of the window would be a real boon for me. |
A 👍 on this feature from me. I'm using a 16:10 monitor, so Gamescope allows me to easily put games in a 720p window that don't natively provide me with that option. Having the mouse always stuck inside the window removes some of the benefits of windowing for me, though, IMO. |
Is there an update about the shortcut to uncapture the mouse? |
Alt Tab uncaptures the mouse from what I've seen. Is that not suitable? |
It is sufficient to make it work, but it's very different from a single button to press and free the mouse. It can be very helpful especially when you have a the game running in a window and still need to interact with things outside the game on your desktop. Alt tab generally create an animation with the DE that can be extremely annoying. More like a "plus", even without a specific button you can make it work, just not in the best way |
Allows better integration with the rest of the parent desktop.
Adding a hotkey to toggle mouse capture would be nice, too.
