did a small test on meet.jit.si:

Firefox, Ubuntu 18.04 on a ThinkPad T420

audio / video conf worked
sharing a presentation worked
sharing a video (youtube) worked
text chat worked

Firefox, macOS

Alex Schroeder noted that this works better than with Safari browser.

Android (LineageOS)

got jitsi-meet from f-droid (google play NOT required, good!)
audio/video conf just worked
no sharing of youtube videos though
no text chat?

Open questions:

how does it scale to more participants? 10? 30? 100? 300? 1000?
Windows?
iOS?

Streaming can be done via youtube, so that should scale. Via jibri.

Are there solutions without using google services?
