Describe the bug
The notch crashes/disappears/doesn't reopen once the device goes to sleep for a long time and then starts again

I don't exactly know what is happening but the notch is not there and nothing happens when I open the app again(primarily because the app is open but the notch is not there)

I have to fix It by quitting the app from the activity centre then restarting it, but I shouldn't have to do that it should always be on

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

  1. Start the application
  2. Put the laptop to sleep(close the flap)
  3. Open after a long time like overnight, if It doesn't happen try again overnight
  4. See that the notch is not responding and nothing responds when you try to open the app.

Expected behaviour
A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.

It should be present when I take my device out of sleep anytime as it's still on on the device, According to the activity manager.

Additional context
Add any other context about the problem here. Mentioning what version are you using.

i am using the latest version of the app

For me, the app crashes when I put my MacBook to sleep. It does not need to be for a long time. Moreover, I cannot force quit the app to re-launch it because it does not show in the list of open apps in the force quit menu. The only option was to close and restart my user session (and after that, the app was not matching the actual notch size anymore).
Unfortunately, I am going to have to uninstall BoringNotch and wait for a future update because this issue is too serious to ignore.

My workaround is to make a script that restarts boring notch and trigger it through raycast.

You can still find boring notch in activity monitor and you can quit it there.

Same issue. I see this since upgrading to macOS 15.3 (24D60) on Apple Silicon.

Same here, the notch no longer opens. Tried reinstalling but that didn't work - I get a smiley face popup on my notch when I open the app, but it disappears as soon as I hover my mouse over it, and the notch doesn't open
