background in radioButton and checkbox

Goal

We should consider unifying radioButton and checkbox and decide if it makes sense for both to have a background or both not.

Context

Currently, there is no parity between the radioButton and the checkbox background component. This creates inconsistency in dark mode.

In web, both components have a colored background (https://tinyurl.com/266z7gjz), but in Figma, only the checkbox has a background.

Should they have a background?

Regarding "backgroundContainer," it does look visually awkward, especially in the sheets (see example):

Discussion Questions

• Should these components have a background?
• In the case of having a background, should it be named "background" or "background container"?
• If it doesn't have a background, it should work well in most cases except when placed on top of a photo.
