I am using Smilei v4.6 to study the interaction of electron beam with a target plasma material.
One of my simulations did not start running, and I performed some simple tests to gather more information.
The two simple test simulations were run by keeping Field Diagnostics:
a) switched OFF
b) switched ON
The test simulations do not contain any particles and is just a grid.
The memory required for running this simulation is approximately 80 GB (also seen in the results of SMILEI output file).
I ran the tests on 80 MPI cores.
The test simulation (a) starts and runs fine.
The test simulation (b) crashes with a segmentation fault (11).
Please find attached a zip file with input, output and error files. Test_Smileiv4.6_Field_Diag.zip
Any further input(s) on understanding the reason for this crash would be very helpful!
Thank you very much for your time!
