Sometimes the header makes more sense with the context of the note name.

It would help if there was a way to selectively disable the plugin for specific links.

Example:

[[Trees#Birch]] -> Birch
[[Trees#Birch|>]] -> Trees > Birch

That's an interesting suggestion!
Unfortunately I don't currently know of a way to change the formatting of links in the case that an alias is a specific string, so I'm not sure how exactly this could be implemented.
If someone knows a way this could be achieved I'd be grateful for any ideas!

I personally just write it out for the rare cases where I need the context of the note title:
[[Trees#Birch|Trees > Birch]] → Trees > Birch
But I understand how this can be tiresome if you use both cases frequently.

It should be possible with piping, if you used something like [[Trees#Birch|verbose]].
