Description:

There is no incoming call notification (ringing) for channel members or direct messages with 3 and more.
Conference call notification is only happening on direct (one to one).

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a channel or a direct message chat with 3 or more people
  2. Click the conference call symbol
  3. B parties only receive message indication and not a incoming call notification.

Expected behavior:

Members should receive a call indication with a ring sound same as for the direct one to one messages.

Actual behavior:

Only message notification.

Thanks for reporting.

Did this occur on earlier versions?

Sure I have seen a similar issue but can't find it.

At least I can say it is the same on 7.1.0 for sure.
But I guess it was before that as well.

Folks, spoke with Product Manager and this was set this way by design.
case is: If someone by mistake places a call in a channel others won't be bugged.

On DMs it is working fine (notifications happen).

Hm....
Would be super nice if this would be configurable than.

E.g in Skype/Teams or others I could call a group as well and users are complaining about this missing feature.
So would be great if you could implement this in future.

IF Community can do it at Workspace level (not channel level, whatever admin decides is applicable, would be applicable for all), Product is ok with it. In case a PR is submitted I'll get internal reviews, but right now don't have it on roadmap priorities

Hello, For this issue, I first need to configure the video conferencing app in Rocket.Chat, which I need to download from the marketplace. However, the app is not downloading on localhost. I’m not entirely sure how to proceed from here. Should I rent a small server and push my code there?
