Thanks I'd like to give 🙌

  • @gabalafou thank you for being a sounding board for workshop ideas with me!
  • @tonyfast thanks for supporting the workshops!
  • @trallard thank you for following up when I ask for help!

Updates from last week ✔️

I don't have much to report.

  • Opened issue on jupyterlab-fonts about potential JupyterLab settings editor interaction. This extension already provides ways to edit some parts of the theme and is at least somewhat extensible, so I think this could be a good path forward.
  • Getting in contact with SPEC team about feedback so we can move forward with the current image description draft.
  • Mostly workshop things. So not helpful here.

Challenges I faced and things I'd like assistance with 🙏

  • Just a heads-up, I'll be asking for some feedback on one of the workshop formats.

My availability for next week

  • I'll be here all week.

Important items for discussion 💬
I really like this new section, but I can't think of anything at the moment.

💬 Important to discuss:

  • [Proposal] - add jupyter/accessibility as a software sub-project jupyter/governance#124 follow-up

    • follow-up question: what is the eligibility/renewal process for voting status? @isabela-pf wonders if the WG need to re-apply/demonstrate its eligibility
    • shall we move forward with software subproject + and WG for accessibility who holds the vote? the software subgroup or the WG
    • the aforementioned issue lays the foundation for both charters

    Next steps 🏃🏽:

    • @trallard to summarise the pros/cons and ways to organise
    • @trallard will present that summary at the upcoming a11y/community call
    • vote/lazy consensus on the above?
    • folks at the governance said we could choose what we want to do, experiment with that for 6 months (?) and reevaluate
    • report back to jupyter/governance on decisions, concerns, steps forward

  • @isabela-pf has things lined up for the workshop

    • @trallard will be at the workshop
    • need to work on the auditing: maybe Swast can provide some new insights 💡
    • @gabalafou will be attending the workshops
  • @tonyfast how can we coordinate with folks working on viz spaces?

    • alt-text and aria with Matplotlib would be a good x-pollination effort
