Bug description

Image

  1. Create a survey
  2. Display it a couple of times
  3. Clear up local storage to show the survey again
  4. Check the unique users count - sometimes it's being calculated wrong

@lucasheriques is this happening when people clean the local storage or every single time? if every single time, its more of a high prior bug that should be fixed

I tested this locally, and it is working as intended.

The table I reference on the screenshot only display users who have interacted with users, either by dismissing or answering the survey. So survey shown events are not displayed.

The number is counting as expected - it counts for everyone, even those who have not interacted with it before.

@lucasheriques lucasheriques closed this as not planned Won't fix, can't repro, duplicate, stale Jan 20, 2025

@lucasheriques I am a bit confused, your loom video also has sown a different number of unique users, plus you raised a new issue, survey shown means the survey was visible, even if it shows many times after page refresh etc, the "unique users" should not change, it should be always 1 if you were the only user, can you clarify if this is a bug or not?

@marandaneto here's a Loom demonstrating it. I think what got me confused in the first place is because the Survey showed up on the local posthog website too

but this is not a bug - feature is working as intended
