It would be really cool if ESPHome could support this so we could use a <80SEK ESP32 to make the Calima really smart (and of course integrate directly to HomeAssistant).

I don't really have the time to take on a new embedded project at the time. But from a quick glance, the hard part is not interacting with the fan but implementing the custom sensor. So if you feel comfortable implementing a custom sensor in ESPHome, I could guide you with the rest!

No, my esp32 got incorporated in another project.
