Now I understand the purpose of this program. Apparently the CP/M archive on MIT-MC stored all files in the natural "ILDB" 8-bit byte format in 36-bit words. So this program types out a CP/M text file.

And TYPESQ (#126) types out a squeezed CP/M file.

Isn't this the same format that FTP TENEX mode uses to transfer 8-bit byte files to a PDP-10 host?
