Water

Water can be extracted using the ISRU Refinery on land or slashed down in an ocean. It can be used in refinery processes by the ISRU or Inline Refinery in the creation of various propellants. As well as utilized as a propellant itself in thermal rockets and hybrid thermal turbojets.

Water is currently found in the oceans of Kerbin, Laythe and Eve. Land based sources currently include Mun, Minimus, Vall and Duna.

Land based sources vary in concentration according to location. There is currently no way to map concentrations in-game yet. As such, it can be useful to look into the PlanetData Folder for maps. Lighter colored areas are of increased concentration. Note that the maps are for land based sourcing only.

Oceans have an even distribution of concentration that can be analysed using the Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometer.
