@RussTreadon-NOAA Could you please add @ADCollard and @emilyhcliu as reviewers? Thank you! |
What is the status of this PR? |
It seems the comment above was intended for GSI PR #825. |
A check of the WCOSS2 (Dogwood) GDA shows that gpsro observations from satellite identifier 803 first appears 20211015 00Z
Satellite identifier 804 first appears 20220107 12Z
The modified May we safely assimilate gpsro data from both identifiers as soon as it appears in the GDA? We run retrospective parallels over these periods. Attention @CatherineThomas-NOAA |
@RussTreadon-NOAA You are absolutely correct! |
@RussTreadon-NOAA I think it should be safe for us to assimilate 803 and 804, the data quality looks good. Lidia and I reached out to DWD and DMI, and they confirmed that the GRACE-FO data is processed by GFZ. Previously, no special QC was applied to GFZ data (such as TerraSAR-X 42 and TanDEM-X 43) in GSI. With the new code change (GSI PR#825), a QFRO quality flag will be applied to them. |
Thank you @XuanliLi-NOAA for confirming that these data types are safe to assimilate as soon as they appear in GDA. |
Add GRACE-FO (satellite IDs 803 and 804) to global_convinfo.txt. This change is required with GSI PR 825.
