Bot consistently fails to render in some/most channels

Rendering the last few messages works generally in some channels, unless it's a large number (above 10 or something, not sure where the limit is exactly), in which case it invariably fails to render after fetching messages. Small numbers also don't work if rendering from a specific end position (via reply). This issue doesn't seem to be a problem in certain channels.
This issue seems fairly widespread, if the support channel in the support server is to be believed, but nobody seems to have made an issue of it yet here which is why I'm posting this.
