Thank you for your contribution here Michael. We've both been here some ten years and that's actually a big chunk of our lives.

Thank you for your time and contributions Michael. I'm holding out hope that once we improve the project management, you and possibly newer developers will be more inspired to make contributions for the project. We are already taking steps in that direction with the new progress reports (I am also hoping that we don't become to inconsistent in doing them in the upcoming months, but life does happen), so the future is brighter. More and more people have been stepping up in the recent weeks as well so it's been quite an active time for the project compared to before. |

Hello @LMMS/developers,
I'd like to use this discussion to reach out to you and to bid farewell as I have decided to leave the project after 10 years of contributions.
This decision has not been taken lightheartedly. Knowing that some features are used by thousands of users across the globe to make music always has been a big motivation for me! Another motivation was to take the insights that were gained from the use of some commercial DAWs and to transfer them to LMMS to make it more on par with these DAWs. It has always been fun to extend and improve LMMS and it won't be easy to leave all of this behind.
I have come to the conclusion though that the current project organization and flow of information does not work for me anymore and that it might be better to leave and focus on other things.
I will be available with regards to my open pull requests if they are intended to be merged at one point so that the effort and work is not wasted. However, I won't implement any new features or do reviews anymore.
Finally I'd like to thank all developers and users for the collaborations, discussions and insights over all these years! I wish you good luck in your personal endeavors and wish the project all the best as well. It was a great experience to work with all of you! I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank @tresf for the trust he brought forward when he added me to the maintainers list all these years ago!
Kind regards,
Michael
P.S.: It would have been rather hard to address everyone I have worked with individually, so I hope that it is okay to use the developers catch all on this occasion. 😉
