Long post alert but some things to consider when doing the snagging: Hallway/Entrance
All Skirting boards are secure to wall, corners sealed with no gaps throughout
Architrave around doors are secure with no gap between wall & frame
Paint on walls & ceiling is cut accurately
Front door closes when you close it freely and latches itself without pulling it in
Front door is fully sealed with no draft.
Post box open/closes
All Walls have no nicks/dings on it
Floors are as level as possible & meeting the Skirting Boards with no gaps
Lights work – check all as some are 2-way lights
Test Smoke alarms
Sockets & light switches are level are have no paint on them or gaps around them
Internal doors close and latch with minimum ease
Test all sockets
Kitchen/Utility
Same as above for Skirting, Architraves, doors, sockets, switches, test heat alarm, paint on walls/ceiling
All doors in kitchen open and close without rubbing off other doors/panels
All knobs are secure
Bottom of Kitchen have a rubber seal to the concrete floor
No damage to kitchen counter
Tiles around kitchen have no gaps
No gaps around sockets after tile has been cut around it
Window sill has no damage and painted right
All windows open/close without any issue
Vents are clear of any obstruction
Test all sockets in Utility.
Check storage press in Utility is secure, door knobs secure and all shelves in place & secure
Check pressure of water in kitchen sink
Vents in the Walls can be opened & closed
Stairs
Baluster is secure to the steps
Painting is fully complete on walls and all around baluster
Check for gaps where stairs meets the walls
Check Walls for nicks throughout
Bedrooms
Same for quality of walls/ceilings, sockets/switches, architraves, skirting boards, smoke alarms
Check all windows
Window sills – no gaps and good quality painting
Check wardrobes for damage, doors open/close easily, knobs are secure
All doors open/close at minimum ease – all keys supplied
Vents in the Walls can be opened & closed
Ensuite/Main Bathroom
Check if toilet & sink is secure
Toilet flushes – should have 2 flushes, half & full flush
Run taps in Sink & Bath for a few mins – it shouldn’t fill up, checking if it’s blocked
Check bath tube is sealed all around it where it meets the floor & architrave
Check the Shaver light works
Check Mirror is secure
Ventilation is working & Vents in the Walls can be opened & closed
Toilet & Sink is sealed at the bottom around the floor tiles
Attic
All insulation is evenly spread out – no gaps anywhere
Light is working with switch near trap door
The water tank is insulated
Check that the Ventilation system works – ask them is there a sensor or a switch where you can turn it off
Trap Door area around the ceiling has no gaps and has paint finish all around it
External/Outside
All Gutters are plumb/level and secured to the walls
All gutters are placed directly over drains
No gaps around windows & doors
Outside lights are working and sealed from rain
Doorbell & Chime works
Check all walls for cracks & brick work is clean
Patio slabs are all level and secure
Check lawn so it has no rubble in it. Make sure there is good quality soil in the lawn & flower beds or you will be picking weeds for the rest of your days
The garden panels are secure
