To install:

  1. Download the latest release, should be a file that looks like Proton-4.XX-GE-X.tar.gz.
  2. Open ~/.steam/root/
  3. Create the compatibilitytools.d folder
  4. Extract archive to ~/.steam/root/compatibilitytools.d/.
  5. Close and re-open steam
  6. Right click the game and click Properties
  7. At the bottom of the General tab, Check "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool".
  8. Then select Proton-4.XX-GE-X from the drop down and click close.

Warframe Instructions

  1. Instructions for Arch can be found here and instructions for Ubuntu can be found here.

  2. Set vsync on/off in game, not auto.

  3. Turn off bulk downloads in the launcher otherwise large updates will fail. This will remove the progress bar and the launcher will simply say "Checking for Content" until it completes.
