Icon Request: fa-info-circle-italic #3114
Comments
^^ This needs to happen. |
Any update on this 'fa-info-circle-italic'. |
Yeh the italic lowercase |
It's too bad because I'm a type designer and would be happy to create this icon but unfortunately contributing icons to the project is explicity forbidden. With a policy like that, I would guess this issue stays open another four years. |
Hi, if you have special needs for this icon, please consider a custom version of font awesome: https://github.com/FortAwesome/Font-Awesome/wiki/Customize-Font-Awesome (wiki will be updated as soon as SVG customization will be available) FWIW, this icon is also available as emoji ℹ️ and none of the implementations uses an italic i: https://emojipedia.org/information-source/ Last but not least, this can be done with the css stacking feature or svg transformations: https://jsfiddle.net/tagliala/qu83xrwp/16/ Docs: https://fontawesome.com/how-to-use/svg-with-js#layering Hope it helps |
Hi @tagliala thanks for all that info! I love that layering solution. That's the one I'm going to use. Cheers.... |
This is a quick update to let folks know that we’re refining our icon request workflow behind the scenes, and as part of that we’re going through all open requests and filing them into several new buckets to be addressed. In this case we’ve added this issue to our new list to be created! We can’t promise any firm timelines right now, but this will help us keep track of it. We’ll update this issue when the icon is released into the wild 🙂 |
info-circle gets a bit clunky as it scales up. I've seen the italicized "i" as a convention more often lately and think it looks a lot nicer at a large size. Here's how Entypo does it,
