<p>U matematici, korijeni su matematičke operacije koje se koriste za pronalaženje broja koji, kad se pomnoži sam sa sobom ili nekim drugim brojem određeni broj puta, daje rezultat. Korijeni su suprotni operacijama potenciranja ili stepenovanja.</p>
<p>Korijeni se često koriste u matematici i drugim naučnim disciplinama za rješavanje različitih problema, kao i za pojednostavljenje izraza. Oni su osnovni koncept u aritmetici i algebri, i igraju važnu ulogu u mnogim matematičkim i inženjerskim primjenama.</p>
<p>Najčešće korišćeni korijeni u matematici su:
Kvadratni korijen (√): Oznaka za kvadratni korijen je √. Kvadratni korijen broja x je broj koji, kada se pomnoži sam sa sobom, daje x. Na primjer, √9 = 3, jer je 3 * 3 = 9. Kvadratni korijen izraza √x se može zapisati kao x^(1/2).
Kubni korijen (∛): Oznaka za kubni korijen je ∛. Kubni korijen broja x je broj koji, kada se pomnoži sam sa sobom tri puta, daje x. Na primjer, ∛8 = 2, jer je 2 * 2 * 2 = 8. Kubni korijen izraza ∛x se može zapisati kao x^(1/3).
N-ti korijen (n√): Opšti oblik korijena naziva se n-ti korijen, gdje n predstavlja stepen korijena. Oznaka za n-ti korijen je n√. N-ti korijen broja x je broj koji, kada se pomnoži sam sa sobom n puta, daje x. Na primjer, 4√16 = 2, jer je 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 = 16.<p>
