We need to change the user's guide to document how to use the new mksurfdata_esmf tool. It currently documents the old mksurfdata_map tool, and needs a pretty big update.

Hello,

I am wondering what is the status of the mksurfdata_esmf tool now. Could I git clone the branch https://github.com/ESCOMP/CTSM/tree/ctsm5.2.mksurfdata and use the tool directly to generate a fine resolution (0.25degree by 0.25 degree) surface data for a region (say East Africa)? I know that there is no document on how to use the new mksurfdata_esmf tool. Could I find any instruction on how to use this tool somewhere or I have to read through the codes itself?

Thanks

Sorry for the silly question. I found the README on how to use the tool
https://github.com/ESCOMP/CTSM/tree/ctsm5.2.mksurfdata/tools/mksurfdata_esmf

This will be worked on after the ctsm5.2.0 tag is made, likely with other CESM3 documentation changes.
