User Story: Set Up Staging Site for CEJST Map Tool

Description:

As a DevOps engineer, I need to establish a staging environment to host the CEJST map tool on our AWS infrastructure with minimal setup effort, allowing the team to begin demos in the first sprint. This staging site will enable the project team and stakeholders to preview and test the application early in the development cycle.

Goals:

  • Create a basic staging environment for the CEJST map tool on AWS.
  • Ensure that the setup allows for easy deployment of updates as development progresses.
  • Maintain a minimal-effort approach to meet the timeline for sprint demos.

Task List:

  • Provision AWS Resources: Spin up the necessary EC2 instance, S3 bucket, or other minimal infrastructure required to host the staging environment.
  • Basic Configuration and Security: Set up basic configuration and apply essential security settings to restrict access to authorized users.
  • Deploy Initial Application Version: Deploy the current CEJST map tool codebase to verify the environment is functional.
  • Set Up CI/CD for Easy Deployment: If possible, implement a basic CI/CD setup to simplify ongoing updates to the staging site.
  • Access and Demo Preparation: Verify access for team members and confirm that the staging site is ready for the upcoming sprint demo.
