Not actually sure what to do about this one so maybe this can't be solved, but figured I'd mention it regardless in case I (or anyone else) ever wants to look into it.

Occasionally, the intros and outros of J-MELO will get cropped in weird ways. I suspect this has to do with the mechanism used to detect breaking news banners; something about the text on the intro/outro screens, combined with the flat backgrounds J-MELO occasionally uses for May J, seems to look like a breaking news banner to nhk-record, and so it crops into the image to remove the news banner that doesn't actually exist. I think this might also very occasionally happen with other shows that aren't J-MELO but J-MELO is a bit more likely to trigger the issue.

Not actually sure how to fix this one, as I think nhk-record uses some basic image diff calculations to figure out if there's a news banner. Maybe consider this a warning to anyone using nhk-record to double-check your J-MELO recordings and re-cut manually from the raw files if needed.
