- Provide users an Arty FPGA board to play with.
- run CI tests on the fpga tool chain.
- Cost: free vs. $300 USD Arty a7-t100 (t35 no longer sold) https://digilent.com/shop/arty-a7-100t-artix-7-fpga-development-board/
- Stable: The pi OS and installed packages don't change (basically) and the wiring (usb, eathernet, gpio, pmod) don't change.
- Available: The Pi/Arty can be used any time from anywhere.
- Friendly to wild experiments: Updates to the Pi system are reset to the stock system at the push of a button or API call. Do whatever you want, see if it works or causes problems, reset and not worry about residual side effects.
