Can SoundSwitch be a proxy audio system, like PulseAudio?

I'm just looking at VAC stuff, ideally something complemented with cli-support for usage like listing, creating and mapping audio input and output from applications to endpoints

I've not yet played with anything like jack stuff to see if it's possible to insulate apps like SuperCollider from hardware changes like setting new active/default device, connecting bluetooth headphones etc (currently any change breaks all audio until app-reboot)

Am making a mess of my OS trying various tests, but just wondered if & how SoundSwitch could help with any of these woes... maybe only for reducing GUI-surfing and mouse clicks to switch profiles, once configured via UI...
