Twenty Seventeen: Blurry images in Safari 13 on iPad

Steps to replicate

Example site: https://nicolawarner.com/

Place images in the panels for the homepage.
View the site on an iPad using Safari 13 (or using BrowserStack)

Result

Images in the backgrounds between panels are blurry.

Expected

I expected them to be as clear on the iPad with Safari 13 as they are on other devices and browsers.
