Future context: With exSat, it's likely that Snapshots on EOS are about to get much bigger.

More info: I'm asking some BPs to let me know what a typical duration to create an EOS snapshot looks like currently.

More info:

  • On Leap v5, snapshot creation on EOS takes approximately 3 minutes.
  • On an oversubscribed VM running v4.0.4, snapshot creation takes 1hr 15min.
