I see a lot of similar issues, like this one:
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open attached JRiver DSP file
  2. Modify one of the PEQ filters
  3. Press save in the filter dialog
  4. Boom, error appears

I am not able to reproduce immediately, I opened that dsp file and edited a few different filters, saved them, no errors

is it literally happening as per your steps to reproduce? i.e. open beqd, open that file, edit 1 filter, save, explode?

Yes, it happens exactly like that.
I am able to avoid the error, if I move the filter to a different location and then modify it. It is very odd.

Just did something similar, in this updated version of the DSP file.

  1. Open DSP file
  2. Doubleclick the PEQ filter that is selected in the screenshot
  3. Press PEQ to create a new filter
  4. Press the save button in the Edit Filter dialog
  5. Boom, error as in the screenshot
